Frequently Asked Questions About Threading

What is threading?

Threading involves pulling out a row of hairs from the follicle by twisting the hairs into a cotton thread. With using hands only, they grab the middle of the thread to form a loop. The loop traps the unwanted row of hairs and the practitioner pulls the hairs from the skin. No chemicals are used.

Does it hurt?

It may sound painful, but threading involves "a lot less pain than waxing, which often peels or burns the top layer of skin" on your brows and above your lip, says Jagruti. The sensation felt during threading is much like that of plucking with a pair of tweezers - but unlike tweezing, threading removes many hairs at once. Since the hair is pulled out from the root, the hair that does grow back is usually finer and sparse.

How long does it take?

It all depends on the area.  Eyebrows usually take 5  mins.  Chin, Upper Lips, also take about 5 mins.  Full Face takes about 10 mins.

What are the Benefits of Threading vs. Waxing?
  Here are a few:

1.  Threading does not peel a layer of skin.

2. The majority of our clients--95%--experience no redness or swelling.  If redness or swelling occurs, it is gone within 30 minutes.

3. No irritation or bumps at all.

4. Hair does not grow back as fast, and hair re-growth is finer.

5. Threading removes even the finest of hair and feels smooth like baby's skin.
